Lifehouse sounded quite good though. Shayne Smith's band seemed like they were all competing with each other and playing independently of each other, not working together as a band should for overall good sound and cohesiveness. My ears were killing me and the sound quality poorly mixed. I love rock music but this was excruciatingly loud and unimpressive. I absolutely love Shayne Smith and his music but the sound quality was bad. Something was seriously off. If you plugged your ears, you could actually hear Shayne Smith's voice better and the guitars a lot clearer without so much background noise. The band is supposed to be there to support the lead singer. A really good band gives the opportunity for each member to shine at different moments to display their unique talent. I don't quite know how to describe it. It just didn't sound clean or crisp. He has an amazing voice but he couldn't compete with the background noise. No one really took the spotlight. You couldn't hear Shayne Smith's voice well enough even though he was singing his heart out. The drummer was decent but the sound still off so not as good as it could've been. I left disappointed not getting what I expected. Hopefully, Shayne Smith will get decent feedback on how to improve because I want to see him do well. I love hearing a great guitar player do his thing but I was not impressed last night. If you want an example of how this is done, see an Eagles concert. I didn't really know them until last night's concert and I really like them.
